Day 3: Building the Roadmap
Building the PRANA Roadmap

Opening the final day with a video created by the PRANA team, featuring a farmer from a 100% no-burn village in Punjab, set context for taking and making critical decisions required for the ambitions of the PRANA project to become a program that would influence the agricultural landscape of the farmers of Punjab. It was time to bring the work home to a conclusion – building a roadmap of decisions and actions that needed to happen to make PRANA’s ambitions come to life.

On Day 3 we were briefed by Matt, Mani, and Robin on the complexity of FCRA. For related questions, please reach out to maniyao.zhu@tnc.org”

Panchayat – Making agile decisions

Modeled on the rural system of local self governance, the four teams spanning Innovation and Policy, People, Targets and Partners and Comms began to build out their detailed proposals that required decisions to be made within the day by the leadership team.

Each team focused on four key areas to build their proposal – What, Who, When and Success Measures. As each team presented their proposal, feedback from the decision makers had them refine their proposals further to articulate what budgets they seek to take their decisions forward.

TMap – Building the 2030 roadmap of decisions

Participants were invited to plot their key decision points on the transformation map along each of their themes. The timelines spanned 2023 to 2030, the end goal being winning the big prize : The Goldman Environmental Award !

Each theme had an opportunity to share the highlights of their decisions and the way forward. Further work will be required for these teams to have cross-functional discussions to understand interdependencies - and how to work them into their roadmap and owners.

Wrap up and Takeways

Closing the circle for the three days, each PRANA team member shared what they were taking away from these few days across the field trip and workshop as a foundation for the work that lay ahead.
